Fosterra and CSArch Partner to Elevate Sustainability in New York Schools through NYSERDA’s Clean Green Schools Initiative

In an innovative move towards enhancing the environmental sustainability of public school districts across New York State, Fosterra has teamed up with the respected architecture and engineering firm CSArch to support the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's (NYSERDA) Clean Green Schools Initiative. This partnership aims to revolutionize the way K-12 schools approach energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and clean energy education.

The Clean Green Schools Initiative, outlined in NYSERDA’s Program Opportunity Notice 4924, offers a substantial funding opportunity for eligible public school districts. With allocations ranging from $650,000 to $1,250,000 per district, this program is designed to help schools that traditionally lack the necessary resources to embark on sustainability projects. Importantly, this funding does not require matching contributions and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Together, Fosterra and CSArch are paving the way for a greener, cleaner future for New York State’s schools. The services offered through this partnership cover a wide spectrum of needs, from energy planning and procurement, including energy benchmarking, analysis, and master planning, to clean energy transition support with sustainability planning, community presentations, and fiscal advising for energy projects. Additionally, the initiative encompasses building efficiency and electrification project assessments and design, focusing on clean heating and cooling technology studies and indoor air quality management.
