EPA Celebrates Major Project Success in Alameda County
-May 13, 2015-
EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy provided a keynote address for groundbreaking ceremony of the largest collaborative procurement effort in the municipal sector, led by Alameda County, including 19 public sector organizations across the San Francisco Bay Area. McCarthy recognized the diligent efforts of the team and the impact that this project has had regionally and nationally while stating “This really is a way of making solar part of the fabric of how we do business”. She also announced a similar effort in the Federal sector that has just started, based on this approach.
Fosterra President, Ben Foster, was a leader of the technical advisory team throughout the project over the past two years and a co-author of the definitive guidebook on collaborative procurement with the World Resources Institute and Joint Venture: Silicon Valley. Mr. Foster expressed that “this effort is a huge win for the regional economy and environment, while demonstrating that we can accelerate the adoption of solar power nationally.”
